Lindsey Prather
North Carolina State House, District 115
I am proud to have attended North Carolina public schools my entire life. I graduated from the University of North Carolina Asheville as a Teaching Fellow Scholar, earning a degree in Sociology and a high school teaching license. I taught Special Education and Social Studies in Buncombe County Schools for six years.
I am running for office because I feel a sense of duty to use my skills and perspective to help make North Carolina a better place for everyone. No matter how engaging or compassionate of a teacher I was, if my students didn’t have stable housing or were food insecure, they weren’t learning. I decided to run for the state house of representatives because the issues I care most strongly about are issues that fall under the jurisdiction of our state legislature; namely education, healthcare, the environment, and good government.
