Annie Kuster Win

Burlington, VT Today, Democracy for America (DFA), celebrated Annie Kuster's progressive victory over extreme right-winger Charlie Bass in the Granite State.

Political pundits from both sides of the aisle closely monitored this race, as a rematch of the 2010 election in which the Tea Party took control of the House.

"This election was always a choice between two candidates -- one that standsup for the middle class, and one that stands up for special interests", said Garrick Dezell, campaign manager for Annie Kuster. "DFA and its members were instrumental in helping our campaign effectively communicate that message, and we're grateful for the time, talent, and resources they poured into our race. Their efforts helped ensure that this election was decided by New Hampshire voters, not special interests."

DFA raised more than $43,400 for the Kuster campaign from the organization's national membership and hosted four Action Summits, a four-hour training to develop important campaign skills for volunteers.

DFA then turned these super-volunteers over to the campaign. In the final weeks of the campaign, DFA members made over, 31,300 calls into New Hampshire.

"Annie Kuster is a tremendous woman and DFA is proud to have worked tirelessly to send her to Congress", Jim Dean, Chair of Democracy for America, said. "I had the pleasure of spending the last few days working to get out the vote in New Hampshire because we understood all along just how important her victory would be to advancing the progressive agenda in Washington. You can count on Annie to be a staunch advocate for women, middle-class families, and for all Granite Staters. I extend my sincerest congratulations to her."
