Coolidge Endorsement

Burlington, VT Today, Democracy for America (DFA), endorsed Leslie Coolidge for Congress to represent Illinois Sixth Congressional District.

Leslie has a strong fiscal background, said Jim Dean, Chair of DFA. Being a Certified Public Accountant for nearly 30 years, Leslie has the skills to help strengthen and preserve our social safety nets Medicare and Social Security. The current leadership in the House of Representatives is broken and believes the only way to fix Medicare is to turn the program into a voucher system. This is the wrong direction for Medicare and will harm our current seniors and destroy Medicare for future generations.

Dean continued,Leslie will bring her dedication and leadership to focus on creating jobs. I believe she will propose practical and sensible solutions that will improve our economy. She is the best choice for voters in Illinois Sixth Congressional District.

Leslie is also a tough advocate for environmental protection. She is a member of the World Wildlife Funds National Council, and the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the International Crane Foundation. Leslie Coolidge responded to the DFA endorsement with enthusiasm: It is an honor to earn the support and endorsement of Democracy for America, said Leslie Coolidge. They share my belief that Congress should work to improve the economy for all families not pursuing a narrow ideological agenda that rolls back the clock on social issues. I have spent my career working on financial issues, and with the help of DFA, Ill head to Washington to bring fiscal responsibility and fairness back to Congress.
