Democracy for America launches $50,000 social media campaign ahead of Iowa Caucus
Initial phase features digital media buys to ensure Senator Warren and Senator Sanders supporters work together to win the Iowa Caucus.
BURLINGTON, VT – Today, Democracy for America launches an independent expenditure campaign expected to spend $50,000 in Iowa ahead of the caucuses. Our campaign will target Iowa Democratic voters who have expressed support for Senator Elizabeth Warren and Senator Bernie Sanders campaigns to ensure that a progressive candidate wins the Iowa Caucus.
The comprehensive digital ad buy will feature video and static images reminding voters that we are more powerful working together to ensure a progressive wins in the Iowa Caucus. The ads will be shared across many digital platforms including Youtube, Facebook, Google and Instagram.
Progressives know what is at stake this election. And we believe a progressive nominee is the strongest candidate to defeat Donald Trump. That begins in Iowa and the Iowa Caucus.
We urge Iowa caucus-goers to attend their Caucus to support their candidate of choice. If their candidate does not meet the 15% threshold to continue on, then we urge the Caucus-goers to not leave until a progressive wins their Caucus. We are asking Iowa voters to sign our “Progressives Unite” pledge.
Democracy for America joined 17 other organizations to launch the Progressives Unite campaign on Thursday, January 16.

This is phase 1 of our independent expenditure campaign, as we must be strategic to win caucuses and primaries and elect candidate delegates in state conventions to ensure a progressive wins the nomination and then the general election. Our independent expenditure campaign will continue through other primaries and caucuses.
