DFA Calls on Gianforte to Apologize and Clarify Views on White Nationalists He Has a Track Record of Supporting
Also calls on National Republican Congressional Committee to Withhold Support
Following the reports that Montana Republican Congressional Candidate Greg Gianforte has repeatedly supported multiple white nationalist candidates, Democracy for America executive Director Charles Chamberlain called on him to apologize and clarify his views on the subject:
“White nationalism is not a value Montanans can tolerate in their representative to Congress. Greg Gianforte’s funding and support for these white nationalist candidates raises serious questions about his fitness for that job.
“Gianforte owes the people of Montana an apology and an immediate explanation of why he gave money to these radical extremists. And the National Republican Congressional Committee needs to pull its ads and support of Gianforte until he does so. There should not be room for these hateful and extreme views in a candidate from either major party.” - Charles Chamberlain, Democracy for America Executive Director
