DFA Endorses Lou Braatz for Lincoln (NE) City Council

National progressive organization partners with Nebraska Democratic Party

Today, Democracy for America (DFA) endorsed Lou Braatz in his campaign for one of Lincoln, Nebraska’s At-Large City Council Seats. Braatz is one of many city-level endorsements for the national organization, which has over 7,000 members in Nebraska and is committed to investing $500,000 in progressive  municipal candidates this cycle.

Democracy for America Chair Jim Dean on the national progressive organization’s endorsement of Braatz:

“Now more than ever, we need more progressive citizens to enter the political fray and run for office. Lou Braatz is dedicated to making sure Lincoln’s government works for all of its residents, not just the wealthy and powerful. From making city council meetings more accessible to working people, to expanding school library hours so less wealthy students can have access to computers and weatherizing homes in low-income communities, Lou understands that our communities function best when working families have as strong a voice in the halls of city government as the well connected.” - Jim Dean, Chair, Democracy for America

Braatz is a community activist and the father of three daughters who has been active in several campaigns for justice in the Lincoln area. As part of its commitment to support Braatz, DFA is also partnering with the Nebraska Democratic Party to provide access to field resources for volunteers to more effectively contact voters.
