DFA founder Howard Dean on Supreme Court ruling on marriage equality: “Love wins… Moral arc of the

Since our founding by Gov. Howard Dean in 2004, Democracy for America and it’s million members nationwide have been committed in the fight for the equal marriage rights of all Americans.

If helpful, here’s a statement from DFA Founder, Gov. Howard Dean, on today’s historic marriage equality court ruling:

“Today, love won. This ruling sends a clear message that every American has the right to marry the person they love.

“In 2000, when Vermont passed the nation’s first civil unions legislation, many thought full marriage equality was at least a generation away. Yet, thanks to the painstaking work of thousands of people who dedicated their lives to this fight and refused to settle for anything less than the full equality that all Americans deserve, we’re celebrating this victory just fifteen years later.

“While we continue the fight to end LGBT discrimination, the moral arc of the universe bent a little closer towards justice and equality for all Americans with today’s historic ruling.” – Gov. Howard Dean, Founder, Democracy for America
