DFA reacts to Paul Ryan’s election as Speaker
Reaction to Paul Ryan's election as Speaker (and why progressives are excited by it) from Democracy for America's Charles Chamberlain:
"As progressives, we could not be more excited about the far-right Republican House caucus' decision to back Paul Ryan as Speaker of the House.
"Thanks to his Vice Presidential run, nearly everyone knows about Paul Ryan's steadfast commitment to doing whatever he can to cut Americans' hard-earned Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security benefits. Ryan's election as speaker will only make it easier for Democrats to expose Republicans as the party that'd rather starve grandma than stand up to its corporate funders.
