DFA urges Senate Democrats to vote NO on Christopher Wray FBI confirmation

After yesterday’s disappointingly unanimous vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee, Democracy for America is urging all Senate Democrats to vote NO on Christopher Wray’s final confirmation for FBI Director.

Statement from Democracy for America Chair, Jim Dean, against Wray’s confirmation:

“Democrats can’t claim to be the party of the resistance movement if our own U.S. Senators simply go along and nod through Donald Trump’s hand-picked FBI Director after he fired the last one in a blatant and publicly acknowledged attempt to obstruct justice.

“Voting to confirm Christopher Wray to head the FBI is essentially telling Donald Trump that Democrats are just fine with him hiring and firing whoever he wants, whenever he wants, for whatever reason he wants -- up to and including taking illegal action to insulate himself from the law.

“Resistance isn’t just a noun, it’s a verb.  Resistance requires action from everyone who claims to belong to it, from those marching in the streets to those trying to fight back in the corridors of power.

“The grassroots is doing its part by standing up and relentlessly organizing to hold Donald Trump’s administration accountable for its actions.

“We urge Senate Democrats to do their part and actively resist Donald Trump’s lawlessness by voting vote NO on Christopher Wray’s confirmation for FBI Director.” -- Jim Dean, Chair, Democracy for America
