Following Supreme Court ruling, DFA joins #Not1More’s call on President to end deportations
Earlier this morning, in a 4-4 ruling, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a lower court's injunction or President Obama's DAPA and the expansion of DACA immigration programs.
Heartbroken by this ruling, DFA joins the #Not1More movement in calling on the President end all deportations in the wake of continued immigration injustice. Here's the full statement from DFA Executive Director Charles Chamberlain:
"Today's Supreme Court ruling on President Obama's DAPA program is a gut-wrenching decision that will inevitably rip parents from their children and our neighbors from the communities that thrive because of them.
"We stand with the #Not1More movement and all those calling on President Obama, both before and after today's decision, to establish a moratorium on all deportations and stop playing a role in the unjust separation of families until Congress enacts the reforms necessary to create a humane immigration system." -- Charles Chamberlain, Executive Director, Democracy for America
