RESPONSE: Democracy for America on the failure of Trumpcare legislation

Moments ago, Donald Trump lost the Trumpcare vote on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives -- bigly.

Here's a statement from Democracy for America's Charles Chamberlain on Donald Trump's monumental loss on Trumpcare:

"The only thing more disastrous than the way Donald Trump handled his failed effort to pass Trumpcare was the plan itself, which would have shoved over 24 million Americans off their health insurance, led to skyrocketing deductibles, and played a role in the deaths of tens of thousands in this country.

"Donald Trump didn't just fail miserably in his first attempt to pass significant legislation simply because his reputation as a 'great dealmaker" is a complete fraud or because Republicans have spent the last seven years lying about the existence of some mythical GOP alternative to Obamacare.

"Trumpcare failed today because millions of people across the country marched in the streets, flooded town hall meetings, and inundated Congressional offices with phone calls to ensure their representatives knew they wouldn't be able to hide from this vote or its consequences.

"While no win is permanent until Donald Trump’s administration and Republicans in Congress are thrown out of power in DC, today's Trumpcare failure is a crucial, early victory for the Resistance that will only help this movement  grow larger in the weeks and months ahead."
