VICTORY: DFA celebrates Josh Green’s primary win in Hawaii Lieutenant Governor race

Last night, Josh Green won the Democratic Primary in the race for Lieutenant Governor of Hawaii. Democracy for America members strongly endorsed Green for Lieutenant Governor, a long-time ally of DFA, back in May.

Statement form Democracy for America Chair Jim Dean on Josh Green's victory in the Democratic Primary for Hawaii Lieutenant Governor:

"Dr. Josh Green's victory in Hawaii's Democratic Primary for Lieutenant Governor is a testament to his years of dedicated service to Hawaii working families both in the State House and Senate.

"One of Democracy for America's very first endorsed candidates in 2004, Josh Green's win in this race is particularly important to DFA because it shows the kind of progressive leadership that's able to emerge when grassroots leaders are given the tools, time, and encouragement to run for office.

"Democracy for America was founded with the belief that every grassroots progressive had within themselves the power to transform the country, and Josh's decisive victory in this primary brings that belief to a whole new level." -- Jim Dean, Chair, Democracy for America

Democracy for America is also a proud supporter of  U.S. Sen. Mazie Hirono's bid for reelection in Hawaii.  Sen. Hirono was unopposed in Saturday's Democratic primary.
