Using petitions, Democracy for America members demanded a response from presidential candidates on everything from ending the war in Iraq, to combating Climate Change. This action proved key in moving the dialogue to the left and made Democratic candidates running for President stand up for progressive values.

In response to our issue petitions, DFA members received video responses from Barack Obama, John Edwards, Bill Richardson, and Dennis Kucinich giving each candidate a platform to speak directly to the progressive community and garner the grassroots support they needed to win the nomination.
